If we're ever going to share calendars, we have to insist on interoperability between them all. Let's drain the swamp!

Mobile Me to drain more Apple swamp -- at what cost?
This morning, Apple's demoing MobileMe with over-the-air iCal sync from any iPhone. Still waiting to hear what it will cost. I'm sure it won't be free.
It replaces .Mac, so $99 a year - at last I might get something from .Mac that is nearly worth paying the cost - my wife is ecstatic at the idea of updating my iphone cal from the house whilst I am at work.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see some competing calendar apps for iPhone that allow over-the-air updates from arbitrary iCal feeds without the yearly fee. Maybe even CalDAV if we're lucky. (knock on wood)
