Hey Vista Calendar users! Are you able to sync with Windows Mobile?

There's enough Windows Vista out there now for me to ask if Vista Calendar syncs with Windows Mobile calendars. Tonight I published an anonymous comment from a Vista user who couldn't figure out how to do it.

It cannot be done unfortunately. The feature is to come in the future.

curious that the first message you get when you upgrade to Vista tells you how much time you're going to save and how much more productive you're going to be...

Indeed - I was thrilled that I didnt have to play loads of money and sacrafice more Hard-Drive space to sync. Guess I was wrong.

No dice my friend. Although Vista has Calendar and I believe even Task functionality with it. So one would think you could sync with PPC, but no way, that would make too much sense.

Now, after installing Windows Mobile Device center for Vista, it basically is telling me, oh you don't have Outlook, so we can't sync anything for you.

You can sync Mozilla Sunbird using FinchSync and Google Calendar vith a PPC attached to a Vista PC but not the in built Calendar. That's Microsoft's idea of progress.

I work in the technical support department at Sybase iAnywhere which recently released "XTNDConnect PC Data Transfer" which can transfer Vista contacts, calendar and tasks both to and from Nokia, SonyEricsson and Windows Mobile phones (you can also migrate data to and from other applications like Outlook and Lotus Notes as well). The price is $19.99.

PS. If you'd like to receive email notification when our synchronization product "XTNDConnect PC" includes these features just email xcpc_support@sybase.com with "Vista Sync" as the subject.
